The complete men's sizing table from the Soviet OST standard, graded and ready to use. This product adds the full OST 17-325-86 men's multisize measurements table to Tape, the companion measurement app for Valentina, as a ready-to-use .vst file — and ships bundled with its matching known measurements database so every measurement is correctly named and illustrated.
OST 17-325-86 — Garments, knitwear, fur products. Standard body shapes of men. Size measurements for clothing design — is the Soviet industry standard for typical male figures, and the measurements used to design menswear. This table turns that standard into a working, graded measurement file: pick a height and size, and your pattern grades automatically — no manual data entry.
What's inside
- 58 standard men's body measurements, graded across the standard's full-size grid.
- Three grading dimensions: height 158–188 cm (6 heights, in steps of 6 cm), chest girth (size), and waist girth (the fullness group).
- All fullness groups in one file — no juggling a separate table per fullness group.
- A fully configured restriction system — only the height × chest × waist combinations valid in the standard are offered.
- Offset and correction values are calculated for every measurement, so each size is dimensionally correct.
- A bundled OST_man.vkm known measurements database that supplies the measurement names, descriptions, and anatomical diagrams. Names follow the OST 17-325-86 known measurements system, so you can customise them later if you wish.
Why you'll want it
- Ready to use as is — a complete, graded table, not a blank template; no values to type in.
- Standard-compliant — measurements, names, and grading match OST 17-325-86 exactly.
- Grade by picking a size — set height, chest, and waist, and the pattern follows automatically.
- Self-documenting — the bundled known measurements file means every measurement comes with its name, description, and diagram.
How it works
Copy the bundled OST_man.vkm into Tape's My known measurements folder — that's the only install step; the .vst table itself needs no special folder. Open OST_man.vst in Tape to review it, or attach it as the measurement file of a pattern in Valentina and select the height, chest size, and waist size you need. Done.
Access: included with the Premium subscription — not sold separately.
Requires: Valentina 0.7.53 or newer.
Language: the measurement names and descriptions in this set are in Russian, matching the source standard.
