We often have to translate materials from one language to another to create manuals. Unfortunately, general translation services are not designed to handle technical terminology correctly. This is why we have been tasked with creating a list of the most common words used in our work. This list contains words and expressions in English and their translation into Ukrainian.
Professional terminology is very important as it allows a clear definition of the concept. The suppression of the Ukrainian language and the dominance of Russian-language technical literature have resulted in the loss of specific Ukrainian professional terms. This has resulted in the surdification of the speaker of technical knowledge. Although many terms have similar sounding and therefore can be recovered, there are still cases when terms in Ukrainian and Russian are significantly different and require separate study. In this article we will try to collect Ukrainian equivalents of the Russian terms for the most common and widely used in our activities. This in turn will help us to create better guide materials in the future.
